Permits and inspections
You need a permit to conduct SFFD regulated activities per the SF Fire Code.
We check plans for fire rated construction, fire alarm systems, smoke controls, exits, and high rises.
We inspect fire sprinkler and alarm systems in new construction and remodels.
Disaster preparedness
Volunteer for the Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT).
Request a safety presentation, bring a fire engine to a school, or observe a fire drill.
Educational and community groups can request a tour 2 weeks in advance.
Ambulance services
The Fire Department bills for emergency medical care before you arrived at a hospital.
The Fire Department has records from your emergency medical care before you arrived at a hospital.
The Emergency Medical Services Division will help patients find items lost in an ambulance.
Safety alarm donation
San Francisco Fire Department received 1000 donated fire alarms and 200 carbon monoxide alarms. We plan to distribute them to residents during 2020 safety fairs.Resources
